MIR Miniature Cutting Insert, Solid Carbide Mini Boring Bar
The MIR miniature cutting insert is the perfect solution for high-precision internal thread turning in the micro range. Designed for partial-profile threads with 55° or 60° profile angles, this tool enables the production of fine thread structures from a bore diameter of just 3.2 mm – ideal for medical components, precision mechanical assemblies, or miniature connections in electronics.
The finely ground thread profile geometry ensures maximum contour accuracy and surface quality on the thread flanks. Thanks to its solid carbide construction and high-performance multilayer coating, the MIR insert is exceptionally resistant to thermal and mechanical loads – even at high cutting speeds or when machining tough materials.
The optimized chip space design ensures reliable chip evacuation, even for deep threads and very fine pitches. This makes the MIR ideal for automated use on CNC lathes, Swiss-type machines, and micro machining centers.
