Solid Carbide Spot & NC Spot Drills | TILL TOOLS

TILL TOOLS solid carbide spot drills create a defined starting point before the following twist drill enters the workpiece. The range includes coated 90° NC spot drills and sharp-ground versions for aluminium and other non-ferrous metals. Models with cylindrical or HB shanks are also available.

The short, rigid design reduces drill wandering at entry and establishes a repeatable position for the following hole. The spot drill’s point angle must suit the subsequent drilling strategy; for spot drilling only, feed just deep enough to guide the following drill securely. The geometry and coating of each version determine its specific material suitability.

Select the diameter, shank form and version to suit the machine, material and following tool. Solid carbide spot drills must be distinguished from Form A centre drills, which produce a standardised centre hole with drilling and countersinking sections.
