Machine taps for blind holes and through holes
Our machine taps are designed for professional use in CNC machining centers and conventional machines. Depending on the application, two main types are available:
- Spiral-grooved taps (for blind holes): Thanks to their optimized geometry with a 45° spiral angle, they reliably transport chips upwards and prevent chip jams in the hole. Ideal for deep and precise threads.
- Straight-grooved taps (for through holes): These drills have straight grooves without chip removal. They are particularly robust and enable precise thread forming with high process reliability, especially in short-chipping materials.
Coatings for maximum performance and long service life
Our taps are available in various high-performance coatings to maximize tool life and increase machining efficiency:
- Uncoated – Ideal for non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, copper or brass
- TiN (titanium nitride) – Reduces friction and increases hardness, ideal for steels and cast materials
- TiCN (titanium carbonitride) – Higher wear resistance than TiN, optimal for high-strength steels and stainless steels
