Machining stainless steel (ISO M) pushes tools to their limits: High toughness, poor thermal conductivity, and the typical tendency toward work hardening make Inox a challenge for any CNC production. Our PVD-coated indexable inserts are the technical answer to these demands. Thanks to extremely sharp cutting edges and positive micro-geometries, they significantly reduce cutting pressure and thus prevent unwanted hardening of the surface layer. At the same time, the innovative high-performance PVD coating acts as an effective heat shield, minimizing chemical wear and reliably preventing built-up edge formation – essential for machining V2A, V4A, or duplex steels.
Our range covers the entire process: from robust roughing inserts that remain stable even in interrupted cuts to highly precise finishing geometries for mirror-like surface finishes. Optimized chip control directs process heat away via the chip (“cool cut”), drastically reducing the thermal load on both the workpiece and the cutting edge.
