Internal Turning Holders | Boring Bars

TILL TOOLS internal turning holders and boring bars provide access to bores for internal longitudinal, face, shoulder, contour and profile turning. The range includes steel boring bars in many ISO designs, solid carbide boring bars for greater rigidity at small diameters, and PSC boring bars for modular quick-change systems.

As overhang increases during internal turning, so does the risk of deflection and vibration. Shank diameter, unsupported length, insert shape and approach angle must therefore suit the bore and contour. Positive indexable inserts can reduce cutting forces, but the holder itself determines only the interface, accessibility and force transmission.

Select the largest boring bar that fits safely into the bore and keep the unsupported overhang as short as the operation allows. Then compare the ISO code, cutting direction and insert family.
