Turning Tool Holder SVVCN 72.5°, Indexable Insert Holder, Lathe Tool
£27.68
Available, delivery time: 1-3 days
- SVVCN turning tool holder with 72.5° approach angle for longitudinal and face turning with optimised cutting force distribution – the shallow angle stabilises the cutting process and enables high depths of cut
- Quenched and tempered tool steel body for high bending stiffness and low-vibration turning even under heavy cutting conditions
- Compatible with all VC.. indexable inserts in 35° rhombic geometry – the pointed insert shape combines contour accessibility with the capability for heavy-duty machining
- Screw clamping for defined clamping force, reproducible insert positioning and quick insert changes without readjustment
- Neutral design (N) enables use in both right-hand and left-hand operations – one holder for both machining directions
- 72.5° approach angle distributes cutting forces over a longer contact zone on the main cutting edge and reduces localised edge loading
- 35° point angle of the VC insert allows machining of tight contour areas, while the shallow approach angle simultaneously provides high cutting stability during longitudinal turning

Turning Tool Holder SVVCN 72.5°, Indexable Insert Holder, Lathe Tool
The SVVCN tool holder with a 72.5° approach angle combines the contour accessibility of a pointed 35° indexable carbide insert with the cutting stability of a shallow approach angle – a turning tool that plays to its strengths in both profile turning and heavy longitudinal turning. As a neutral tool holder, it is designed for all VC.. indexable carbide inserts and can be used in both right-hand and left-hand rotation.
The 72.5° approach angle directs a significant portion of the cutting forces axially into the shank, relieving the radial direction – this noticeably stabilises the process at high depths of cut and allows greater cutting depths per pass than steeper approach angles. At the same time, the 35° nose angle of the VC insert maintains a large clearance area that enables access to tight profile transitions and pointed contours. The body, made from heat-treated tool steel, provides the bending rigidity that is critical for smooth cutting under load. The screw clamping system secures the insert precisely and enables quick changes. The neutral design eliminates the need for a second holder for the opposite direction – saving tooling costs and simplifying tool management.
The SVVCN is recommended for users seeking a versatile holder that combines contour accessibility and roughing stability in a neutral tool – particularly where both machining directions are run from a single setup.
Scope of delivery: 1 SVVCN holder (without indexable carbide insert) incl. screw and wrench.
