Turning Tool Holder MVVNN 72.5°, Indexable Insert Holder, Lathe Tool
£32.31
Available, delivery time: 1-3 days
- MVVNN turning tool holder with 72.5° approach angle for longitudinal and face turning with favourable cutting force distribution – the shallow approach angle directs forces into the shank for stability and enables high depths of cut per pass
- Quenched and tempered tool steel body for high bending stiffness and smooth cutting behaviour even under heavy cutting conditions and interrupted cuts
- Compatible with all VN.. indexable inserts in 35° rhombic geometry – the pointed insert shape combines contour accessibility with the capability for heavy-duty machining
- Lever clamping for high clamping forces and secure insert fixation during medium to heavy turning operations
- Neutral design (N) enables use in both right-hand and left-hand operations – one holder for both machining directions
- 72.5° approach angle distributes cutting work over a long contact zone on the main cutting edge and reduces localised edge loading – this extends tool life
- Free rake face through lever clamping ensures unobstructed chip flow even at high chip volumes and varying chip cross-sections

Turning Tool Holder MVVNN 72.5°, Indexable Insert Holder, Lathe Tool
The MVVNN tool holder with a 72.5° approach angle is a heavy-duty turning holder that combines the contour accessibility of a pointed VN indexable carbide insert with the stability of a shallow approach angle and the clamping force of a lever clamping system. As a neutral tool holder, this turning tool can be used in both right-hand and left-hand rotation – one tool for both machining directions, simplifying tool management and reducing costs.
The 72.5° approach angle directs a significant portion of the cutting forces axially into the shank, reducing the radial load on the holder – this noticeably stabilises the process at high depths of cut and allows greater material removal per pass than steeper approach angles. At the same time, the shallow angle distributes the cutting edge load over a long contact length, positively influencing tool life. The lever clamping system holds the VN insert securely even under heavy cutting conditions, leaving the rake face completely clear – a key advantage for unobstructed chip evacuation when chip cross-sections vary, as occurs during transitions between longitudinal and face turning. The 35° nose angle of the indexable carbide insert maintains a usable clearance area that enables access to tighter contour zones and pointed profile transitions.
The MVVNN is particularly suitable for workshops that want to cover both turning directions with a neutral holder while utilising the load capacity of a lever clamping system combined with the accessibility of a 35° cutting geometry.
Scope of delivery: 1 MVVNN holder (without indexable carbide insert) incl. washer, pin, clamp, screw, and wrench.
