Available, delivery time: 1-3 days
- MSDNN turning tool holder with 45° approach angle for heavy roughing – the shallow approach distributes cutting forces evenly and enables high depths of cut with stable cutting guidance
- Quenched and tempered tool steel body for maximum bending stiffness and vibration-free operation even under high cutting performance
- Compatible with all SN.. indexable inserts in square geometry – four usable cutting edges per negative insert for low tooling costs per workpiece
- Lever clamping for high clamping forces and secure insert positioning during heavy machining and interrupted cuts
- Three insert sizes (12, 15 and 19) covered – targeted matching between light and heavy roughing depending on machine size and stock allowance
- Free rake face through lever clamping ensures unobstructed chip flow – crucial at high chip volumes in roughing operations

Turning Tool Holder MSDNN 45°, Indexable Insert Holder, Lathe Tool
The MSDNN tool holder with a 45° approach angle is a powerful turning tool for heavy longitudinal and face turning with SN.. indexable carbide inserts. Where high metal removal rates and large stock allowances need to be machined, this tool holder fully exploits its design advantages – the shallow approach angle is engineered for maximum cutting stability and high depths of cut.
The 45° approach angle distributes cutting forces equally between the axial and radial directions, stabilising the cutting process even under aggressive cutting parameters and spreading the cutting edge load over a long contact length. The result: greater depths of cut per pass than with steeper holders, fewer passes, shorter machining times. The body, made from heat-treated tool steel, provides the rigidity needed to exploit the full performance potential of this approach angle even during heavy machining. The lever clamping system holds the square negative indexable carbide insert securely with high clamping forces, leaving the rake face completely clear – a key factor for unobstructed chip evacuation at high chip volumes. With SN.. inserts, four usable cutting edges per insert are available, and the three covered insert sizes 12, 15, and 19 allow targeted graduation from medium to heavy roughing.
The MSDNN is the logical choice for workshops aiming to achieve maximum metal removal rates at low cost per cutting edge during roughing – particularly on powerful lathes with sufficient spindle power.
Scope of delivery: 1 MSDNN holder (without indexable carbide insert) incl. washer, pin, clamp, screw, and wrench.
