CNMG-P6 Turning Inserts for Steel
The CNMG P6 is the first choice when real “meter cutting” in steel is required. The powerful P6 chipbreaker with generous guiding stage ensures reliable chip breaking and secure evacuation, even at high feed rates and large depths of cut – providing greater process security and tool life. The negative 80° geometry delivers the necessary edge strength for heavy-duty applications, including severely interrupted cuts, without premature breakouts.
The multilayer CVD coating resists abrasion and oxidation at high cutting speeds, while the tough substrate withstands thermal shock loads with ease. The result: reproducible dimensional accuracy and consistently good surface quality – even under harsh conditions. With its double-sided usability and high metal removal rate (Qw), the CNMG P6 significantly reduces cost per part. Field tests showed up to 40% less wear compared to the previous generation.
